La Playa De La Casa by Xcaret Review – The World’s Best All-Inclusive Resort in Cancun Mexico

La Casa De La Playa Resort is an All-Inclusive Resort in the renowned Riviera Maya area near Playa Del Carmen beach in Quintana Roo in Mexico. Some revere La Playa De La Casa as the best resort and hotel experience in the world, before of its luxurious grandeur experience as well as the level of service and excellence the resort provides.

La Casa De La Playa resort is an extension of Xcaret’s already unique hotel brands like Hotel Xcaret Mexico and Hotel Xcaret Arte, with La Casa De La Playa being the highest tier of Grupo Xcaret’s offerings in their hotel and resort brand. Similar to Hotel Xcaret Arte and Mexico, La Casa De La Playa is an all-inclusive resort except that is an ultra-luxury option catering to only the highest guests expecting premium service.

In my La Casa De La Playa review, I’ll let you know whether this premium 63-room resort and hotel is worth your money and what you can expect during the stay.

This La Casa De La Playa review will go over some of the pros and cons of staying at La Casa De La Playa Resort and Hotel

What Type of Guests Is La Casa De La Playa Resort & Hotel For?

La Casa De La Playa resort by Xcaret is an “all fun inclusive” option as titled by Groupo Xcaret, because unlike other all inclusive brands, Xcaret includes transportation to and from all the activities, excursions, food and drinks and the entire experience from start to finish is included with your stay.

This is no traditional or basic resort. It is a very cozy ultra luxury experience catered to the wealthy and upper echelons of society. It is said that you can often find high profile celebrities, executives and those celebrating very special occasions here.

This place is perfect for a couple’s Honeymoon getaway, as it is extremely cozy and private with very little traffic. Being an adults-only resort, you won’t expect to see any kids or children running around by the pool. It is also great for birthday or life celebrations or to celebrate a huge milestone in your life.

This isn’t a party resort, however as the peace and serenity is far away from the party atmosphere of other places like RIU Cancun and others near the Cancun or Playa Del Carmen strip. There won’t be a lot in the way of nightlife either here, but instead you will be treated to exclusive “experiences.”

Little touches like an exclusive wine cellar with unlimited wine tasting is what really makes this place so exclusive and magical. Really, this is a place to bring a special someone to make memories that can last a lifetime.

Cost and Price Per Night at La Casa De La Playa

The price per night for La Casa De La Playa resort and hotel can be quite high. Often, the price per night can range anywhere from upwards of $2,000 USD or more even up to $3,000-5,000 a night during peak season during the summertime or during major US holidays. Expect to pay a pretty penny here for your stay.

I have found the best places to book is Costco Travel, or you can book directly with the hotel. The Xcaret Membership does not include the premium La Casa De La Playa brand, only Xcaret Arte and Mexico.

With prices being as high and astronomical as they are, I don’t recommend booking waterparks or excursions on everyday of your stay, or you won’t truly benefit from the upscale experience this resort has to offer on premises. If you want to be active the entire trip, consider Hotel Xcaret Arte (on the adults only side) or Xcaret Mexico Resort which is for family and kids and would represent a better value for your money if you plan to be doing off-site activities each day.

Excursions can still be done here, just in moderation. I’d plan and sprinkle a few off-site activities if you are the type that gets bored easily, but only half-day activities or a few short hours (such as the exclusive Espactacular experience at Xcaret Mexico park)

This is a resort for a couple, or even a solo traveler or with a special partner to enjoy a week of relaxation on premises, to rejuvenate, destress and restore.

La Casa De La Playa Review of Arrival and Transportation

As mentioned before, La Casa De La Playa is no ordinary resort or hotel. Expect premium service and offerings from the moment your foot steps down into Cancun airport. All the transportation to and from La Casa De La Playa is included and you get your own private transportation in a luxury van, which differs from the Xcaret Mexico or Xcaret Arte side in which you must take the hotel’s bus with the group.

You will have the option of speaking with concierge to set a booking schedule for your pick up and drop offs, as well as any restaraunt or excursions you want to partake in.

Here, you will be whisked away in luxury with just you and your partner or group, without other guests in the hotel with you. It truly is a luxurious experience.

A Review of the Rooms in La Casa De La Playa

The rooms at La Casa De La Playa is nothing short of beautiful and elegant. Each room faces the ocean, and while not every room has a direct skyline view of the ocean, all of the rooms have customized balconies facing the ocean.

The room types vary from Oceanfront Suite, which provides a direct higher floor view of the ocean from your balcony,  to Oceanfront Wellness Suite which is a room fully equipped with a spa-like shower and direct access to the Muluk Spa on premises, or a garden style suite with it’s own dipping pool. Every room has a large tub which can be used as an outdoor jacuzzi-like spa experience.

All the materials in the room as of super high quality. In many rooms, there is also the infamous “jellyfish” aquarium inside the room where you can see live jelly fish in the tank directly from inside your room. This is a really unique experience that adds that level of “ultra-premium” touch to your stay.

Even the showers are enough to fit 2 people, with a steam-room style shower to make you feel like you are in an actual spa. The bed often overlooks the balcony with an Oceanview. The whole experience is quite luxurious.

Restaurants in La Casa De La Playa – Tuch de Luna & More!

Tuch de Luna is another premium experience Michelin star rated restaraunt in La Casa De La Playa where your taste pallets will enjoy the true experience of gourmet food done by a premier Michelin Chef Martha Ortiz which serves up authentic Mexican food in a gourmet style of cooking.

Estero restaraunt in La Casa De La Playa – Estero is a peruvian fusion restaraunt headed by chef Virgilio Martinez and is open for breakfast lunch and dinner. A truly classic experience.

Centli La Casa De La Playa – Serving up comfort dishes from Southern Mexico sure to capture your taste buds

Lumbre – Northern Mexican grill with a coastal feel served up by chef Richard Munoz Zurita

Xal – Here you will find traditional fine dining Tapas-like Mexican food with smaller plates and gourmet dishes

Amenities and Features of La Casa De La Playa

Infinity Pool Overlooking the Ocean- Perhaps what is most stunning about the Playa De La Casa is the elongated infinity pool that extends outwards towards the ocean overlooking the sea of the Riviera Maya and entire Yuacatan Peninsula! This pool is like something out of the movies, something you don’t see on an everyday basis.

When this pool lights up at night, it is even more magical with the pool lights illuminating while overlooking the coastline creates a magical and very romantic experience if you are enjoying it with your partner.

There are also ample seating and lounge chairs with VIP drink service and swim-up bars here as well, with Xcaret employees and servers catering to your every need. It is quite a magical and relaxing experience overall.

Custom Itinerary While Staying at La Casa De La Playa

What is perhaps most stunning about La Casa De La Playa resort and hotel is the VIP experience offered here. Everything is personalized to your needs and desires on this trip. Whether you prefer a week of relaxation in the resort, or you want to venture out to the various excursions offered by Xcaret, that is up to you.

As a guest of La Casa De La Playa, you will have full access to all the restaraunts and amenities of both Hotel Xcaret Mexico and Xcaret Arte, and they will provide you private transportation to each side of the resort you want.

Even better though, is that the staff at Xcaret will design you customized experiences based on your desires and needs on your itinerary. For example, you will have exclusive backstage access to Xcaret’s Mexico “Expactacular” show in which the staff will take you back stage and introduce to you some of the costumes and processes that the staff go through to make the show magical – followed by an exclusive dinner in a special section of the theatre.

Then, you can also enjoy exclusive experiences at various restaurants in Hotel Xcaret Mexico or Arte Resort.

For example, in Tah-Xido (the Japanese restaurant) you will have access to the chef’s special menu and a full-course Omakase menu which is not normally in the regular menu for guests staying at Xcaret Arte Resort but is an exclusive benefit available to only La Casa De La Playa guests.

There are also other restaurants fully available to La Casa De La Playa guests, such as dinner inside a real cave or next to a cenote with a candlelit dinner.

In one case, guests at La Casa De La Playa are also treated to other exclusive experiences across the other waterparks such as exclusive after hours or early access hours. At Xel-Ha you will be taken to a “secret” Mayan ceremony in the morning at the beginning of the day to bless the Mayan gods and bring good positive vibrations into the waterpark at the beginning of the day alongside the Xcaret Xel-Ha waterpark staff and employees. It is exclusive experiences like these that truly set the stay apart from other more traditional all inclusive resorts in Cancun.

The experiences are truly above and beyond what one might expect at a typical resort, but they clearly cater to a high-end clientele.
